MISSION:
To make a permanent record of the size, location and type of casting welds, and maintain map files for use by PCC and customers.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A. Weld Mapping.
Objective: to measure and identify welds and complete weld maps.
Typical Activities:
- Reads Tech Cards.
- Measures casting welds; spans weld sizes, locations, volume, spacing and grades on weld maps.
- Identifies and records types of alloys and welding processes used in welds.
B. Records and Files.
Objective: to prepare all required paperwork on castings welds and maintain files.
Typical Activities:
- Completes Non-Conformance Material Deviation (NCMD) forms for the Quality department when weldings exceed specifications and for specific part requirements.
- Maintains tech cards files.
- Completes paperwork including routers, greenwelds and welding audits.
- Maintain current active map and blank map files.
- Pulls maps to send to Shipping or Warehouse.
C. Miscellaneous Department Support.
Objective: to assist the operations of the salvage department.
Typical Activities:
- Paints weld wire and stocks weld wire cabinet.
- May wash or degrease parts as needed.
D. Safety.
Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.
Typical Activities:
- Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
- Safely operates all equipment and tools.
- Identifies and reports safety problems.
E. Performs other tasks as directed.
TRAINING:
1. Training is provided on the job.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, write and perform basic math calculations.
2. Blueprint reading experience or training desirable.
3. Ability to attend to details and work independently.
4. Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to eighty pounds.
5. Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
