Responsibilities
- The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following:
- Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
- In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 2 years motor vehicle maintenance experience.
- Must be knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
- Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma/Equivalent.
- Must have the ability to receive a favorable TIER 1 investigation.
- Must be able to bring and use own tool.
Desired Qualification:
- 3-5 year’s maintenance experience preferred.
- US Army MOS 91/63 series qualification is desired.
- Experience on US Army tactical vehicles is desired.
- Valid Driver’s license preferred.
- ASE Certified Preferred.
- HVAC EPA Tech Cert 608/609 a plus.
- Emergency Vehicle Technician Certified ASE Certification desired.

- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
