In Operations Decision Science (ODS), we build and deploy predictive and prescriptive tools to support this complex operation. The ODS team is seeking an operations research scientist to develop data-driven solutions aimed at continually providing decision support, improving airline efficiency, and improving airline performance. An ideal candidate has advanced technical knowledge of discrete optimization modeling techniques, simulation methodologies, and core data science / data engineering concepts. The candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This role will support the delivery of decision support applications by leveraging combinatorics, algorithms, and optimization. Primary Functions:Interface with business unit leaders to develop and maintain internal customer relationshipsIdentify efficient and meaningful ways to disseminate and synthesize data to satisfy business’ needsBuild complex data sets from multiple data sourcesCollaborate with fellow scientists to design, develop, deploy, and calibrate new and existing optimization products

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Working knowledge in multiple optimization techniques (LP, MILP, QCP, MIQP, CP, and/or heuristics)Working knowledge in commercial optimization solvers (Gurobi, Cplex, other)Working knowledge in Python programming languagesWorking knowledge of Git version control and AWS cloud servicesProven success in solving complex quantitative problemsStrong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skillsConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
