The Revenue Optimisation (RO) Department at Emirates is responsible for maximising revenue through strategic integration of pricing, inventory, and Origin & Destination (O&D) management. By leveraging advanced data analytics, forecasting tools, and spanet intelligence, the team ensures optimal seat allocation, pricing decisions, and flight management across the network. The department also develops and implements policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive profitability and efficiency. RO collaborates with commercial, operations, and partner teams globally to adapt to dynamic spanet conditions and support the airlines strategic growth.
As Revenue Optimisation Manager, you will Implement Revenue Optimisation (RO) policies and maximising revenue for the region utilising Origin and Destination, Pricing and Inventory Management tools to achieve optimum revenue. Achieve defined RO Key Performance Indicators - Yield, Route profitability, seat factor and spanet share and coach regional teams in development/implementation of new decision support systems. Analyse spanet trends that influence Emirates commercial performance, provide network-wide pricing recommendations that optimise corporate revenue, route yield and profitability.
This role will support the delivery of the Modern Airline Retailing program, playing a key role in transitioning to the next-generation Offer & Order Management System while driving cross-functional stakeholder engagement and change management efforts.
In this role, you will:
Generic:
- Implement the agreed Revenue Optimisation strategy for Emirates that includes the integration of Origin and Destination management, Pricing and multi-channel sales strategies, revenue targets, yield targets, flight management targets for the assigned regions.
- Evaluate trends in spanet conditions using information available from various sources, including spanet intelligence reports relative to competitor activities, political/economic trends/industry development and drive route profitability encompassing optimum cabin/class/point of sale mix.
- Plan, develop and implement strategy along with HR management (including recruitment and selection) training and development, performance appraisals and quality management issues.
- Conduct RO forecast meetings with the Market Operation teams to define and develop strategies to maximise revenue and yield across the network. Ensure both route and spanet strategies are in place across a rolling 52 week period and necessary controls are in place to promote network traffic flow.
- Ensure controls used to steer traffic across the network are agreed across both the Inventory, Market Operations and RO Analytics teams and are implemented within PROS OD or MARS in a timely manner. Disseminate forecast information to the leadership team and highlight revenue earning opportunities.
- Support in delivering the Modern Airline Retailing Transformation program, including activities related to the selection, procurement, and rollout of the new Offer & Order Management System
- Assist in planning and coordinating the transition from the current PSS to OOMS, including supporting technical teams on integration with digital and enterprise systems
- Contribute to change management efforts, stakeholder coordination, and communication planning across business units and external partners
- Support project governance activities, including tracking progress, identifying risks, ensuring resource alignment, and facilitating collaboration across delivery teams
Specific Analyst Manager
- Direct the periodical reporting of Revenue Optimisation KPIs according on a worldwide, region and country level. This will include trend and gap analysis and proposed solutions.
- Influence both the Revenue Optimisation and Commercial Senior Management team by providing ad-hoc historical and predictive reports for the definition of Emirates Revenue Optimisation Strategic Priorities.
- Lead, and manage the regular and ad-hoc data reporting and analysis for all Revenue Optimisation stakeholders. Support the Revenue Optimisation leadership and Operational teams by identifying periods of weakness at point of sale or route level to highlight deviations from targets and commercial opportunities.
- Envisage, adapt and evolve the business processes, data and systems usage in the Revenue Optimisation department. Ensure that the business analysis processes and systems operate in tandem to maximize revenue opportunities for Emirates. Support Senior Management, route managers and route area teams as well as other departmental needs around revenue optimization analysis and data.
- Run analytics for various what-if scenarios, business contingencies, and impact analyses and reacting to unanticipated business conditions ensuring timely decision-making leading to quantum revenue gains and cost savings for the business.
Specific Standard and Procedure Manager
- Develop standard operating procedures and policies for all key RO disciplines including pricing, inventory, groups and demand management. Ensure documentation is regularly reviewed, improved, agreed, communicated and understood across all RO operational teams. Provide a single point of contact within RO for all aspects of RO policy.
- In line with commercial objectives and priorities, lead the development of RO key performance indicators and metrics, to facilitate regular performance reviews for each key RO discipline. Ensure key performance indicators and metrics have a clear measurement process.
- Along with HR, NRD and L&D, develop and maintain a 12 month training plan and associated training packages for all RO new hire staff and existing staff. Ensure RO training needs analysis is conducted annually with quarterly reviews of training program progress. Ensure training programs are designed to cover new hire inductees into RO, national recruitment employees, graduate programme recruits, new or existing system training and refresher training programs.
- Develop and agree change management principles and guidelines with the RO Systems, Market Operations and Inventory teams. Ensure any new system capability has undergone impact analysis on existing standards and procedures and any updates to standards and procedures are identified. Ensure standards and procedures documentation is updated and the relevant operational teams are fully trained and briefed prior to implementation.
- Lead and direct RO best practise groups and process improvement workshops to regularly discuss new RO methodologies , to review and develop systems capabilities and key strategic projects to ensure RO standards and procedures are continuously improved. Prioritise the review process and co-ordinate process review activity with key stakeholders such as Skywards, Global Sales and co-ordinate with the Performance Development team to conduct in-depth process reviews and recommendations.
QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent 12+3 education) with over 8 years of experience in Airline Revenue Management or Pricing or with a Revenue Management vendor in a product role
- Hands-on Knowledge of airline industry transformation to Modern Retailing, offers and orders, NDC platform, ancillary sales etc.
- Strong analytical skills including use of BI tools, AI/ML models and enterprise analytics
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale cross-functional program management and/or commercial product design & management
- Ability to present to and interact with Commercial and Operations stakeholders is a must.
