Description:
Inspectors are responsible for determining the conformity of articles fabricated to Engineering Services and vendor design data. Inspection personnel must be thoroughly familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in their specialty to determine the quality and conformance of articles being fabricated.
What you will be responsible for:
· Inspection of articles manufactured by approved vendors for use in STC modifications of customer aircraft.
· Inspect and record dimensions and material / process certifications on inspection software to produce First Article Inspection (FAI) or production traveler documentation.
· Report discrepancies found during inspection using Inspection Discrepancy Notices.
· Control non-conforming articles by maintaining reject cage and following Engineering Services Quality Procedures Manual (QPM) process for rejected articles.
· Perform receiving inspection of parts or materials used for STC kits or distribution, following process outlined in the Engineering Services Quality Procedures Manual (QPM) and Distribution Procedures Manual (DPM).
· Verify conformity of kits or sub-components to design data and sign certification form FAA 8130-9 for kits or articles that will be conformed by FAA designees or ODA unit members.
· Following FAA approval of design data and receipt of FAA STC (Supplemental Type Certificate),verify conformity of kit contents and fabrication data to current approved data and issue Authorized Release Document FAA Form 8130-3 and other duties assigned.
