Quality Inspector in DFW
Description
Inspector performs a variety of inspection duties of a training nature in designated areas. Under instruction of a higher classified inspector, lead or supervisor, perform inspection assemblies/detail parts for compliance to applicable drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements in a training nature. Report or document discrepancies per applicable procedures. Works from engineering drawings, blueprints, quality procedures and instructions, manufacturing specifications and procedures, operation and work sheets, electronic data, and verbal instructions. Basic use of precision measuring instruments such as ball gauges, calipers, digital diameter tester, height gauges, dial indicators, pana-metrics (electronic thickness tester), and micrometers in performing assigned quality tasks. Aid in maintaining necessary documentation and records. Monitor, implement and adhere to all department procedures, practices, and directives. Keep your own work area clean and orderly. Refer any problems to higher classification inspector, lead inspector, or Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Use drilling devices such as pistol grip drill motor, 90-degree angle motor, 45-degree angle motor, and countersink cage.
- Acquire the ability to use reverse pancake motor, snatch block/steamboat, Winslow gun, and Spacematic (power feed).
- Perform the entire sealing process.
- Install and remove button head/flush Hilok/Hilite, castellated nuts, button head/flush rivets, blind rivets, and jo-bolts.
- Determine between shear/tension fasteners.
- Run hydraulic systems tests.
Essential Skills- Experience in the aviation industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent with the ability to read and comprehend English.
- Mastery of pneumatic tools, electrical bonding equipment, measuring devices, and torquing equipment.
- Proficiency in using tools such as scales, protrusion gauges, fastener grip gauges, calipers, micrometers, Trulok gauges, go-no-go gauges, ball gauges, fastener height gauges, torque wrenches, pistol and/or torque guns, and torque screw guns.
- Understanding of all calibration requirements.
- Ability to use drilling devices like pistol grip drill motors, 90- and 45-degree angle motors, Winslow guns, or Spacematic (power feed), and set up countersinks.
- Skill in drilling holes true and round, maintaining 2-degree angularity, determining edge distance, pitch distance, equal distance spacing, and differentiating hole requirements for interference, transition, and clearance fasteners.
- Ability to install fasteners (wet or dry) such as button head, flush Hilok/Hilite, castellated nuts, button head/flush rivets, blind rivets, and jo-bolts, and distinguish between shear/tension fasteners.
- Ability to use Alodine (1132 pen), touch-up paint, topcoat/clear coat.
- Proficiency in using shop floor operating systems, understanding drawings and blueprints, following planning requirements, and having basic computer operating skills.
- Ability to perform sealing processes including fay surface, fillet, pack, aero, brush coat, and dome sealing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in the aviation industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment
The work environment is a 250,000 square foot facility in Red Oak, where the manufacturing of wings for the Global Express 8000 takes place. Monday - Friday 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm and 2nd Shift 3:30pm - 11:30pm

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
