NOW HIRING CNC Set Up Machinist
Job Description: Are you a skilled Set Up Technician looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our dynamic team where youll play a crucial role in planning machining activities, setting up lathes/turn mills, verifying settings, maintaining specifications, and ensuring equipment is in top condition. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards and quality in our production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Study work orders, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters to plan your activities.
- Install collets, tools, attachments, bushings, stops, and stock pushers on lathes/turn mills.
- Measure positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces to ensure adherence to international standards and provided drawings.
- Observe drilling, grooving, and cutting operations; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust and reprogram controls; sharpen and replace worn tools.
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturers instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs.
- Complete production and quality logs to keep track of your work.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years experience machining Aluminum, Stainless, Composites/Plastics, and Brass/Bronze.
- Ability to make small edits to provided programs during setup.
- Familiarity with Hardinge and Okuma Turn-Mills preferred.
- Ability to modify tools with minor adjustments if required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Programming experience preferred but not required.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Proficiency with lathe and mill setup.

Work Environment: Experience a friendly, small manufacturing, machine shop environment. The shift is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Homestead, Florida.
