Northrop Grummans Defense Systems division is looking for a Drafter to join the Whisper program team in Stafford, Virginia. The Whisper program focuses on a sophisticated antenna-based RF transmission and receiving network platform, utilizing command and control software to manage multiple systems globally.

Responsibilities: 

• Utilize computer-aided design tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.

• Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.

• Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent and 3 years’ experience
• 2 years’ experience detailing engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations
• Work on-site at Stafford Virginia
• CAD/AutoCAD certificate or other similar tools
• Understanding principles of MIL-SPEC standards
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
• US Citizenship with Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance TS SCI and CI polygraph
• Shift: 1st shift with rotating weekend supports (~every 14 weeks)

Preferred Qualification:

• Active Clearance

• 5 years experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies.

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
