We’re looking for a Project Accountant to join a high-performing finance team supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across engineering, manufacturing, and systems delivery. You’ll play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting project teams, and ensuring robust financial control.

Key Responsibilities
Project Financial Management
-
Maintain accurate forecasts for orders, revenue, and invoicing
-
Monitor project performance with a strong focus on cash and milestones
-
Support Programme Managers in understanding actual costs and financial performance
-
Ensure estimates to complete and estimates at completion (EAC) are accurate
Reporting & Controls
-
Assist in the preparation of programme dashboards and reporting packs
-
Monitor and control project balance sheets and working capital
-
Perform monthly reconciliations and support month-end close activities

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data
Systems & Analysis
Planning & Forecasting
Business Partnering

Act as a key finance contact for assigned projects

Collaborate with project teams and business functions

Support bid activities and commercial claims where required
About You
You are an analytical and proactive finance professional who thrives in a project-based environment.
Essential:
-
Experience in project accounting within engineering, manufacturing, defence, aerospace, or similar sectors

Strong understanding of financial and commercial principles

Ability to work with ambiguity and solve complex problems
-
Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels

Strong Excel skills
Desirable:
-
Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)

Degree in Finance or a related discipline
-
Experience using Oracle or similar ERP systems
